1. Reported statements.
She says, “I will work in my village.”
She says (that) she will work in her
village.
2. Reported general questions.
Rose says to David, “Do you like coffee?”
Rose asks David if/whether he likes coffee.
3. Reported special questions.
My sister asks me, “What were you doing there?”
My sister asks me what I was doing there.
4. Reported requests, orders or commands.
a) positive
The teacher says to the pupils, “Stop talking!”
The teacher tells the pupils to stop talking.
b) negative
Mother says to her daughter, “Don`t go there alone.”
Mother tells her daughter not to go there alone.
