The others: Refers to the remaining people or things in a specific group or set.

Some pencils are on the table; the others are in the drawer.

Some flowers are in the vase; the others are in the garden.

 

Others: Refers to additional people or things apart from a specific group already mentioned.

Some students like math, while others prefer science.

Some people enjoy swimming; others prefer hiking.

Some pens are blue, and others are black.

Some shirts are red, and others are green.

 

Other (without 'the'):

is more general and refers to any additional or different things or people.

We use other before a plural noun:

children from other countries.

There are several pens on the table; do you have (any) other colours?

I don't like this shirt; show me other options available.

Some students enjoy reading fiction books, while other students prefer non-fiction.
