Refers to the opposite or different one when comparing two.
One glass is empty; the other is full.

The others:
Refers to the remaining
people or things in a specific group or set.
Some pencils are on the table; the others are in the
drawer.

garden.
Others:
Refers to additional people or things apart from a specific group already mentioned.

Other
(without 'the'):
is more general and refers to any
additional or different things or people.
We use other before a plural noun:
children from other countries.
