Типи умовних речень в англійській мові

Type 0 Conditionals/Zero Conditionals (general truth)

(умовні речення нульового типу)

передають загальні істини, природні або наукові факти, правила або ж часто повторювані події, що стали правилом.

Ми можемо вживати when (=whenever) замість if.

If-clause – present simple

Main clause – present simple

The ground gets wet if/when it rains. – Земля намокає, якщо/коли йде дощ.

I always go for a walk if/when the weather is fine. – Я завжди йду гуляти, якщо/коли погода гарна.

 

Type 1 Conditionals /First Conditionals (real present)

Умовні речення першого типу відносяться до майбутнього і

 виражають реальні дії чи вірогідні сітуації у майбутньомую Перекладаються майбутнім часом.

If-clausepresent simple

Main clause:

1)   Future simple

I will go for a walk if the weather is fine. – Я піду гуляти, якщо погода буде гарною.

2)   Imperative (спонукальний/наказовий спосіб)

Please, come to my place and help me if you are not busy tomorrow. – Будь ласка, прийди до мене додому та допоможи мені, якщо ти не зайнятий завтра.

3)   Modal verb + bare infinitive

I can give you the book(tomorrow) if you need it. - Я можу дати вам книгу, якщо вона вам потрібна.

 

 

Type 2 Conditionals /Second Conditionals (unreal present)

Умовні речення другого типу виражають нереальні чи неможливі дії, які  відносяться до майбутнього чи теперішнього часу.

Перекладаються з часткою ‘якби(б)’ в обох реченнях.

If-clausepast simple ( якщо є дієслова to be, воно має форму were в усіх особах однини і множини)

Main clause – would/could/ might + bare infinitive

 

If I saw him tomorrow, I would tell him about it. – Якби я побачив його завтра, я б сказав йому про це (але в мене мало надії побачити його завтра) (умовне речення відноситься до майбутнього часу)

 

If she learnt English now, I would buy her this book. – Якби вона вивчала зараз англійську мову, я купила б їй цю книжку (але вона вивчає французьку мову)

 

I would go for a walk if the weather were fine. -  Я б пішла гуляти, якби погода була гарною (але зараз йде дощ)

 

 

Type 3 Conditionals /Third Conditionals (unreal past)

 

Умовні речення третього типу виражають нереальні дії у минулому, яка вже ніколи не відбудеться.

Перекладаються з часткою ‘якби(б)’ в обох реченнях.

 

If-clause – past perfect or past perfect continuous

Main clause – would/could/might + bare perfect infinitive (have + V3)

 

If I had met her (yesterday), I would have told her about it. – Якби я зустрів її (вчора), я сказав би їй про це (але зустріч не відбулася)
