Завдання

 1. Prefix reвказує на повторення дії і на українську мову часто перекладається префіксом «пере-» або «зробити щось знову». Він часто приєднується до дієслів.

Read – reread – перечитати

Write - rewrite – переписати

Do – redo – переробити

Build – rebuild збудувати знову

Learn – relearn – вчитися знову

 After the car accident, Terry had to relearn how to walk.

I made a mistake in my experiment. I have to redo it.

2. Translate using the words in brackets with the prefix ‘re-‘:

Містер Ґуббай (Gubbay)учора сказав, що не буде повторно подавати заяву на цю роботу. (apply)

Ми витратили 5000 євро на переробку кухні. (do)

Набагато простіше переписати свою роботу на комп’ютері. (write)

Місцеві електрокомпанії кажуть, що деякі будинки не будуть підключені  до кінця тижня. (connect)

Blame sb for sth - Звинувачувати когось у чомусь

Many people blame him for Tony's death.

Багато людей звинувачують його у смерті Тоні.

Translate:

Organizers blame the weather for the low turnout.

Why is he blaming others for his problems?

I do not blame them for trying to make some money.

Don't blame yourself for what happened.

Blame sth on sb/sth - Звинувачувати когось у чомусьзвинувачувати щось у чомусь

The police are blaming the accident on dangerous driving.

Поліція звинувачує в аварії небезпечне водіння.

You can’t blame all your problems on your family. - Не можна звинувачувати у всіх своїх проблемах сімю.

 Translate:

Some of the women blamed their husbands' violence on drinking.

They apologized for the delay and blamed it on technical problems

The bank blamed the error on technological failings.

 Put (placelaythe blame on sb/sth - Покласти провину на кого-небудь/що-небудь

Translate:

To be bored with sth/sb - feeling tired and unhappy because something is not interesting or because you have nothing to do; щось сильно набридло, надокучливе, нудне.

I'm bored with doing homework.

John is always bored with his job, he's been doing the same thing for years.

She's bored with her routine and wants to try something new and exciting.

To fall in love with sb - закохатися

They met at a coffee shop and fell in love at first sight.

I fell in love with Paris when I visited it for the first time.

She fell in love with the cute little puppy as soon as she saw it.

To be fed up with sb/sth -  annoyed or bored by something that you have experienced for too long; ситий по горло

I'm fed up with the constant traffic on this road, it takes me hours to get home.

She's fed up with her roommate's messy habits and wants to find a new place to live.

He's fed up with the long hours at work and wants to take a break.

To head for – прямувати до (when the speaker wants to emphasize the direction or purpose of the movement)

We need to head for the airport soon or we'll miss our flight.

After work, I usually head for the gym to get some exercise.

She saw her favorite store and immediately headed for the entrance.

In disbelieve – з недовірою

I watched in disbelief as the magician pulled a rabbit out of his hat.

She listened to her friend's story in disbelief, unable to comprehend what she had just heard.

The students stared in disbelief as the teacher announced they had no homework for the weekend.

To be married to -  бути одруженим, бути заміжньою

She is a successful businesswoman, married to a supportive and loving husband.

He is married to his job and works long hours every day.

She was surprised to find out that her new boss is married to her ex-boyfriend.

To occur to sb - if something occurs to you, you suddenly think of it; спадати на думкую

It never occurred to him that his actions could have such a negative impact on others.

It occurs to me that we might need more food for the party, I'll make a trip to the grocery store.

It didn't occur to her that she had left her phone at home until she arrived at work.

On the train - коли ми говоримо про рух або пребування на поїзді.

The scenery outside was breathtaking as we travelled on the train through the countryside. (movement)

She fell asleep on the train (location)

I saw a beautiful sunset on the train ride home.

She met her future husband on the train during a trip to the city.

To be typical of sb – властиво, типово

It's typical of him to arrive late for every meeting.

It's typical of the weather to be unpredictable this time of year.

Her behavior is typical of someone who is stressed and overwhelmed.

It's typical of the government to make promises they can't keep.

To be unsure of/about sth – бути невпевненим у чомусь

I was unsure of the reaction I would get.

Like many men, deep down he was unsure of himself.

She's unsure of what to do next now that (зараз, коли) she's graduated from college.
